Everyday calls
Call a vet in Poland without speaking Polish · EVA
You have chosen a veterinary clinic, but need to ask reception about a routine visit. Prepare the practical questions first. EVA can help with that phone inquiry; a veterinarian must assess the animal’s health.
Make your first callChoose the clinic and check online options
Check the clinic’s official website for online booking, contact details and a language you understand. Identify the right branch and whether it sees your type of animal. A listing in English does not guarantee every veterinarian or shift speaks English.
Prepare a short administrative brief
Include the species, the routine service you are asking about, preferred dates and your language needs. Ask what records to bring and whether any preparation instructions must come directly from the clinic. Do not ask EVA to diagnose symptoms, select medication or decide whether it is safe to wait.
Ask about price and what it includes
“Ile kosztuje konsultacja?” asks the consultation price. Ask whether tests, medicines or procedures are separate and whether the quote is only an estimate. The receptionist may not know the final cost before an examination. A price inquiry is not permission for treatment or payment.
Check language, time and arrival details
“Czy lekarz mówi po angielsku?” asks whether the veterinarian speaks English. Ask about the available visit time, branch entrance and what to bring. If you need another language, name it explicitly. For a booking request, give one selected clinic and clear acceptable conditions; an offered slot is not yet a confirmed appointment.
Keep urgent care with a professional
For an urgent concern, contact a veterinary service directly rather than wait for an assistant inquiry. EVA is not an emergency service, clinical interpreter or veterinary adviser. If reception needs a direct clinical conversation with you, ask how to reach the appropriate professional.
Example routine inquiry
Call the veterinary clinic number I provided. Ask whether they offer routine cat consultations, the consultation price, available times in my chosen window and whether the vet speaks English. Ask what records I should bring. Do not book, approve tests or discuss treatment decisions.
Separate reception facts from clinical advice
The useful result identifies the clinic, available times, stated consultation price, language and required documents. Missing information stays unknown. No answered call guarantees the clinic can treat a particular condition.
