Everyday calls

Need to call in Poland but do not speak Polish? · EVA

Need to contact a business in Poland, but cannot hold the conversation in Polish? Use a script below, send a translated message or ask a trusted Polish speaker. For an ordinary service question, EVA can also call the number you provide and return a written answer. You review the request and start the call yourself.

Make your first call

They said “Proszę zadzwonić” — or you cannot understand the reply?

“Proszę zadzwonić” means “please call”. Translating the first sentence does not prepare you for every reply. Use these short clarification requests yourself; the business may offer a written channel, but it does not have to.

You received “please call” after sending a message

First check whether the question really requires a call. Ask for an email address or official contact form. Keep one request with the branch, service and date instead of creating conflicting bookings.

Ask in Polish

Czy mogę opisać sprawę w wiadomości? Na jaki adres e-mail mogę ją wysłać?

May I describe the matter in a message? Which email address can I send it to?

You can read a translated question but cannot follow the answer

Pause after one question and ask for simpler wording. If the explanation is still unclear, do not guess or agree. A trusted Polish speaker can help with the conversation.

Ask in Polish

Przepraszam, nie rozumiem odpowiedzi. Proszę powiedzieć to wolniej i prostszymi słowami.

Sorry, I do not understand the reply. Please say it more slowly and in simpler words.

You heard a price but do not know what it includes

Write the amount and scope separately. Check whether it covers the whole service or just a visit, diagnosis or starting price. An estimate is not a confirmed final charge.

Ask in Polish

Czy to jest pełna cena za całą usługę? Co jest wliczone, a za co trzeba dopłacić?

Is this the full price for the entire service? What is included, and what costs extra?

You are unsure of the date, time or month

Ask for the full date and repeat it back. Request written confirmation if the business offers it. Do not treat a possible time as a confirmed appointment.

Ask in Polish

Proszę podać dokładną datę, miesiąc i godzinę. Czy mogą Państwo potwierdzić te informacje e-mailem?

Please give the exact date, month and time. Could you confirm this information by email?

You need time to decide before anything changes

Keep the information request separate from a booking, cancellation or payment. Say explicitly that you are still checking options.

Ask in Polish

Dziękuję. Muszę to sprawdzić. Na razie proszę niczego nie rezerwować ani nie zmieniać.

Thank you. I need to check this. Please do not book or change anything yet.

If a routine business question still needs a Polish call, you can give EVA the selected number, the question and what must not be agreed. EVA makes its own outbound call and returns a written result; it does not translate your live conversation. Use the scenarios below to prepare the request.

What do you need to ask? Start with a ready-to-use call script

No account needed to use these phrases yourself or with a trusted Polish speaker. Replace the brackets before calling. These scripts ask for information; they do not authorize a booking. If the reply is difficult to follow, the example brief shows how to ask EVA to make the call instead.

Book a hairdresser without Polish: check the price and times first

Have the salon branch, hair length, service and an actual date/time window ready. An online booking calendar may already answer the question.

Say this in Polish

Dzień dobry. Pytam o strzyżenie z myciem dla osoby z włosami do ramion. Jaka jest pełna cena i czy są wolne godziny [data, przedział godzin]? Na razie proszę nie rezerwować terminu.

What it means

Hello. I am asking about a haircut with washing for shoulder-length hair. What is the full price, and are there free times on [date, time window]? Please do not reserve a slot yet.

Or give EVA this inquiry brief

Call the salon number I provide. Ask the total price for a haircut with washing for shoulder-length hair and available times on [date, time window]. Return the duration, deposit and cancellation conditions. Do not book or agree to payment.
Preparation and next steps: Book a hairdresser without Polish: check the price and times first
Call a landlord about a flat: availability, full cost and viewing

Keep the listing reference, selected contact and move-in date ready. Write down rent, administration charges, utilities, deposit and agency fee separately.

Say this in Polish

Dzień dobry. Pytam o mieszkanie z ogłoszenia [numer ogłoszenia]. Czy jest jeszcze dostępne? Jaki jest łączny koszt miesięczny, kaucja i prowizja? Kiedy można je obejrzeć? Na razie pytam tylko o możliwości.

What it means

Hello. I am asking about the flat in listing [listing number]. Is it still available? What are the total monthly cost, deposit and agency fee? When can it be viewed? For now I am only asking about options.

Or give EVA this inquiry brief

Call the contact I selected about listing [reference]. Ask if it is available from [move-in date], the separate monthly charges, deposit, agency fee and viewing options. Do not reserve the flat, arrange a viewing or accept a lease or payment.
Preparation and next steps: Call a landlord about a flat: availability, full cost and viewing
Ask a repair service about the visit fee before calling someone out

Note the appliance model, what happens and your district. A diagnosis or travel fee may apply even if you decline repairs. This is for routine faults, not danger or emergencies.

Say this in Polish

Dzień dobry. Pralka [model] nie odprowadza wody. Czy obsługują Państwo dzielnicę [dzielnica]? Ile kosztuje dojazd i diagnoza? Kiedy można umówić wizytę? Na razie proszę nie rezerwować wizyty ani zamawiać części.

What it means

Hello. My [model] washing machine does not drain. Do you serve [district]? What do travel and diagnosis cost? When could a visit be arranged? Please do not book a visit or order parts yet.

Or give EVA this inquiry brief

Call the repair service number I provide. The washing machine [model] does not drain. Ask about service in [district], travel/diagnosis fees and possible visit windows. Do not book, order parts or approve repair work.
Preparation and next steps: Ask a repair service about the visit fee before calling someone out
Reschedule an appointment without accidentally losing the old one

Have the booking reference, original time, acceptable alternatives and the provider’s change deadline ready. Ask about charges before agreeing to a change.

Say this in Polish

Dzień dobry. Mam wizytę [data i godzina, numer rezerwacji]. Czy można ją przełożyć na [nowa data, przedział godzin]? Czy obowiązuje opłata za zmianę? Proszę jeszcze nie zmieniać obecnej rezerwacji.

What it means

Hello. I have an appointment [date and time, booking reference]. Could it be moved to [new date, time window]? Is there a change fee? Please do not change the existing booking yet.

Or give EVA this inquiry brief

Call the selected business about booking [reference] at [original date/time]. Ask for alternatives in [new window] and change/cancellation fees. Keep the original booking. Return options only; do not change, cancel or agree to a charge.
Preparation and next steps: Reschedule an appointment without accidentally losing the old one

When a message or booking page is enough

Check the business’s official website for a calendar, contact form or your preferred language. Put the branch, service and date in one short message. Translation tools help with written questions; they do not independently phone the business and clarify an unexpected answer. Avoid sending several conflicting booking requests.

A short script for calling yourself

Start with “Dzień dobry, dzwonię w sprawie…” — hello, I’m calling about… Then ask one question. “Czy mówi Pan/Pani po angielsku?” asks whether the person speaks English. “Czy może Pan/Pani mówić wolniej?” asks them to speak more slowly. “Proszę powtórzyć datę i cenę” asks them to repeat the date and price. Write down the answer and repeat it back.

A human interpreter, friend or local support group

A trusted Polish speaker can help with a difficult conversation. Ask first whether they can join the call or call on your behalf, what it costs and how they handle private information. For legal representation, medical discussions or official procedures, find appropriately qualified human help. In an expat group, describe the type of help you need without posting documents, access codes or your full personal situation.

What an AI phone assistant does differently

EVA makes an outbound call to the eligible Polish number you provide. You describe the question, choose Polish for the call and start it yourself. The assistant speaks to the business and returns a written result. You can use the interface in English, Ukrainian or Russian. EVA does not join your own live call as an interpreter, answer your incoming calls or find businesses for you.

If you keep putting off the call

Turn the task into three points: what you want to know, acceptable alternatives and what must not be agreed. Start with one ordinary factual question. A written result can make the next step easier, but no assistant can guarantee that someone answers or accepts the request. EVA is a practical tool, not treatment for anxiety or an emergency service.

I understand Polish, but cannot follow a fast reply

Prepare the questions and a small answer sheet: date, time, amount, address and next step. Ask “Czy może Pan/Pani powtórzyć?” to hear it again, or ask the business to send the details in writing. A translated opening sentence will not translate the reply for you. For a simple factual errand, you can instead give EVA the selected number and questions; for a conversation you need to participate in, choose a human interpreter.

Choose help by the job, not by the label

An online calendar is useful for a straightforward slot. A translated message works when a reply can wait. A trusted bilingual person can help with context, if available and willing. A professional interpreter supports a conversation you take part in; check language pair, appointment time, confidentiality and fees. A community or support organisation can explain where to turn, but may not make calls or reply immediately. EVA is an AI phone assistant for an outbound task you initiate, not an incoming receptionist or a live translator. Check current access and charges before starting; no route guarantees a successful answer.

Example brief — not a customer recording

Call the Polish business number I supplied. Ask whether the service is available on my chosen date, its total price and whether anyone there speaks English. If anything is unclear, report that. Do not book or agree to a payment.

Choose the route that actually resolves your question

A useful answer names the branch, price or date, conditions and anything still unknown. Check those details before taking action. You can use the script without an EVA account; if you delegate the call, review current access, minutes and charges in the app before starting.
